So we picked up a copy of dark vengeance for my 10 year old’s birthday and he’s been bugging me for weeks to help him use the airbrush to paint his space marines. I figured this was a perfect chance to try out preshading and using badger ghost tints after.

This is what we managed to get done in just over an hour.

All the models were sprayed black, then 45 degrees with grey and from the top with white.

Deathwing Terminators – these were sprayed with a light coat of ghost tint brown – watch out though it is VERY red, I was expecting something a bit more suited for bone but it turned out ok. We then gave a 45 degree coat of vallejo bone to pull it together.

Ravenwing Bikes – tried to use ghost tint oil to create a black blend over the above primer bit it came out a bit purple so a coat of vallejo black grey to pull them back a bit.

After a bit of satin varnish to see the finish without the gloss

Plasma cannon and sgt.

Both were sprayed with ghost tint green over the above primer.

Librarian – as above but ghost tint blue

For speed painting, this stuff is amazing. You could get a pretty reasonable paint job in no time at all on an entire army.

Well I’ll see you later when Rhys has finished them all up!
